Remembrance Sunday Garston 2023
Members of Garston Masonic Hall Island Road South, met at 10.45 am on Sunday 12th November 2023. They then walked to the Garston Cenotaph, to assemble with the local Community. Which included members of the local Fire and Rescue team, local veterans, and members of the general public.
 
Over recent years the number of people attending has grown. Even a group of young boys proudly wearing medals of relatives. (all on the correct side of their chests).
Members of Freemasonry clustered together, several of them stepped forward to lay a wreath from each section. As the most Senior Freemason laid the first Wreath, others then followed.
 
Several of the Fraternity then returned to Garston Masonic Hall for a Sunday dinner. Following the meal, a presentation consisting of a compilation of small films.
A raffle took place, and it raised the sum of £120.
 
WBro Geoff Roberts (WM of Coronation Mark) thanked all who attended and those who helped in the organisation of the day, and in particular VW Bro Derek Horrocks.
 
In response Derek thanked everyone for attending, especially due to the short notice given. This event is usually very well attended however on this occasion approximately only 25 people attended.
 
W Bro Geoff Roberts thanked all that attended, and also thanked the Chef Mick Smith, and his waiting-on staff.
